Today (October 4) is World Animal Day, a day dedicated to animal rights and the welfare of all kinds of animals all over the world. It’s also the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
It’s a good day to enjoy animal movies, such as the classic 1967 musical “Dr. Dolittle,” in which Rex Harrison has the ability to talk to the animals! That includes monkeys, birds, dogs, sheep, horses, giraffes, seals, and even the mythical two-headed llama the pushmi-pullyu and a giant sea snail!
