He’s already Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes: Now Robert Downey Jr. will talk to the animals in a reboot of “Dr. Dolittle.”
Variety reports that Downey will star in “The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle” and Stephen Gaghan (“Syriana”) will direct. It’s not clear whether the good doctor will be living in Victorian times (as Rex Harrison did in the 1967 musical version) or modern day like Eddie Murphy, who played the doctor in two films.
Let’s not forget Downey turned into a dog in 2006’s “The Shaggy Dog” starring Tim Allen. He also did a fair amount of talking back to Zach Galifianakis and his French bulldog in “Due Date.”
For St. Patrick’s Day, the actor shared a picture of him with some pigs, so we already know he’s got plenty of four-legged friends.
