
Tom Hanks new movie, “Finch,” in which the actor plays a robotics engineer named Finch, who’s one of the few survivors of of a catastrophic solar event, will be available on Apple TV+ on November 5.
His only companions are a robot and his dog, Goodyear. Worried that he’ll outlive his canine friend, he creates a robot, played by Caleb Landry Jones, to watch over the dog. He just has to teach the robot, who’s named himself Jeff, to take as good of care of Goodyear as he has, and “what it means to be alive”. (Have tissues at the ready.)
According to the official synopsis, the trio leaves its underground bunker for a dangerous road trip into the American West.
The sci-fi film was originally called Bios and slated for an October 2020 release, but was delayed due to the pandemic.
We don’t know much yet about the dog who plays Goodyear, but he was trained by Raymond Beal, who previously worked with the canine stars of 2017’s “A Dog’s Promise.”
