The final trailer for Ron Howard’s “In the Heart of the Sea” shows Chris Hemsworth and crew of the Essex battling an enormous sperm whale who sinks their ship. It’s the true story on a terrible shipwreck that inspired Herman Melville’s “Moby-Dick.” The film is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s 2000 non-fiction book about the infamous incident of 1820.

Besides Hemsworth (who plays the First Mate), the films stars Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Tom Holland, Brendan Gleeson, Michelle Fairley, and Frank Dillane. Ben Whishaw plays Herman Melville.

The film opens December 11, 2015.
