In the new spy thriller “American Assassin,” there’s a high body count, but does that include any animals?

Luckily, CIA rookie Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien) is a quick-thinking and resourceful guy, who’s able to trap three attack dogs — Dobermans and a Rottweiler** — in a car rather than hurt them. (You can briefly see the scene in the video below at 1:59.) It’s a move not unlike Jane Levy’s clever ploy in the horror film “Don’t Breathe.”

** Update: Thanks to readers who commented that one of the dogs is probably is a Cane Corso (an Italian breed of Mastiff), a Presa Canario (also related to the Mastiff) or possibly a pit bull.

The only other dog in the movie belongs to tough military vet Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton), who is never in any danger.
